An 8-year-old boy has been raped in Jessore.
The incident took place around 12 noon on Thursday (December 10) in the city’s Sashtitalapara area. Police have arrested a man named Kamal Chandra Karmakar (50) in the incident.
Jessore Kotwali Police Station OC (Investigation) Sheikh Tasmeem Alam said Kamal Chandra Karmakar of Shashtitala Para in the city raped the child and took her to his house. The baby began to bleed. When the child returned home, his father heard the incident from him and lodged a complaint with the Kotwali police station. After that, Kamal Chandra Karmakar was arrested from the sixth-floor area. The child was also admitted to Jessore General Hospital. The medical examination of the child will be completed along with the treatment, the OC said.
Besides, the child’s father Mohammad Shaheen has filed a case under the Women and Child Abuse Act.
