Turkish Foreign Minister threatens war with Greece

Turkish Foreign Minister Melt avuolu has said that Greece's plans to increase its water level in the Ionian Sea could trigger a war.

On Saturday, Turkey's foreign minister warned Greece that it could not extend its waters to 12 miles. Tensions with Greece and Turkey have recently risen over oil and gas exploration in the Mediterranean. In the meantime, such a move by Athens has raised new tensions.

A Greek newspaper quoted Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis as saying that the Greek government was planning to submit a bill to double the territorial waters facing Italy in the Ionian Sea.Greece will expand its territorial waters to other maritime areas in the future.

France is directly supporting Greece in the Eastern Mediterranean. In this context, the Turkish Foreign Minister said that France is playing with European leadership. France wants to create security forces against the European Union and NATO.
