Unusual cold currents are going on in Sweden, Finland, and Norway. In the last 25 years of records, such a low temperature has not been seen in this region. An unusually severe cold spell has brought life to a standstill across Sweden, especially in the north. Authorities in Sweden's northern Norrbotten region have announced that no one should go out except for an emergency.

All public transport has also been suspended for security reasons. Not only in Sweden but also in Finland and Norway, ordinary people are in trouble due to the onset of winter. Temperatures have been below minus 40 degrees in several parts of Sweden over the past 24 hours. Temperatures fell to minus 40 on Wednesday morning local time in Vitangi, outside the municipality of Kiruna, the local meteorological office said.

The severe cold is causing traffic disruptions in many parts of northern Sweden. Due to severe cold, the car is not starting. Due to this, most of the county traffic routes were closed on Wednesday.

Angela Carlson, Acting CEO of the Department of Public Transport, said with concern that the weather forecast is indicating that this cold flow will last for several days, which is quite unusual.

Bjorn Karlström, operations leader of Kiruna municipality's rescue service, warned everyone to think a little extra before going out. He said the biggest challenge at the moment is the risk of water freezing inside the socks and equipment. Maintaining proper cold resistance management in our own personnel and equipment, especially when we are out on rescue operations. We have not yet had any major disasters during ongoing disasters. However, we are taking precautions in all aspects.
