The Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) has announced long marches in various places, including the capital Islamabad, if Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan does not resign by January 31.
On Monday (December 14), Maulana Fazlur Rehman, head of the PDM, an alliance of the main opposition parties, spoke about the program. He said they would hold a long march towards Islamabad in early February. Opposition MPs have stated they will not run for office.
Earlier on Sunday (December 13th), the 11-party opposition coalition held a massive rally in Lahore in support of their demands. Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) vice-president Maryam Nawaz, one of the parties in the PDM alliance, has called on supporters to take part in a long march towards Islamabad.
