India were ashamed of being bowled out for the lowest number of runs in their Test history. In the Adelaide Test, Kohli lost the innings by 36 runs against the host Australia.
However, India lost 9 wickets for 36 runs. Fast bowler Mohammad Shami got injured and left the field. As he is no longer in a position to bat, India are all out as per the rules.
Earlier in 1974, India were all out for 42 runs in a Test against England. That was India’s lowest score in an innings in white so far. However, Virat Kohli’s team is even more embarrassed against Australia today. Not only that, as the second team after South Africa, no Indian batsman has touched a double figure in an innings in a Test. New Zealand have the lowest record of one innings in a Test at 26, with India now seventh.
