Italy has announced a new lockdown during the upcoming Christmas and New Year holidays to prevent coronary infections.
The announcement was made by Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte on Friday.
Conte said the Italian government has continued its efforts to prevent a second outbreak of the epidemic. We have decided to lockdown the whole of Italy again by including the whole of Italy in the red zone so that the upcoming religious festivals of Christmas and New Year are not re-infected. You must not forget that it is time for us to leave. We will leave now so that next time we can all be healthy and reunited with our families.
According to the new announcement, unnecessary shops and businesses will be closed from December 24 to 27, December 31 to January 3 and January 5 and 6. At this time no one will be able to go out without work, hospital and emergency needs. All types of bars and restaurants will be closed.
From December 28 to December 30, the lockdown is relaxed and bars and restaurants are allowed to remain open until 6 p.m. However, from 31st to 6th January next year, Italy will again be under complete lockdown.
Meanwhile, many Italians have taken a stand against the lockdown. They are demanding that the government take a stand against the lockdown.
