Japan’s cabinet has approved a record military budget for the coming fiscal year.
The new fiscal year will start in Japan from next April. Experts believe that the military budget has been increased with the aim of dealing with China.
Prime Minister Yoshihide Sugar-led cabinet approved the proposed budget. With this, Japan’s military budget has been continuously increased for the last 9 years. This year’s budget has allocated 3.6 percent more than the current financial year. In the coming new fiscal year, Japan will spend a total of ০ 1.03 trillion on the military.
Briefing reporters after the budget was approved, Chief Secretary of Japan’s Cabinet Katsunobu Kato said, “We will strengthen our capabilities for national defense.” This will ensure an environment of peace and security.
A large part of the military budget that Japan has allocated will be spent on building new generations of fighter jets and missiles.
