The first shipment of Pfizer-Bioentech corona vaccine arrived in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday. In the meantime, more than 1.5 million people in the country have registered online for the corona vaccine.

On December 11, Saudi Arabia approved the coronavaccin made by Pfizer and Bioentech. The Saudi Food and Drug Administration (SFDA) has approved the Pfizer-BioNT vaccine for emergency use, Saudi media reported.

It is learned that the decision was taken after reviewing the data submitted by the US pharmaceutical giant Pfizer and the German company Bioentech on November 24. The vaccine meets all requirements in terms of efficacy, safety, stability and production policy in accordance with international drug standards, the SFDA said.

Regarding the Saudi government’s approval, Ugur Sahin, CEO of Bioentech, said, “From the very beginning, our goal has been to develop a vaccine that can provide rapid and strong protection against COVID-19 and that can be adopted by all ages.” Based on the information available so far, we believe we have achieved this successfully. The virus has no country or border. That’s why we’re working to make this vaccine available to as many people worldwide as possible. “
