Bangladesh’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia and Djibouti’s non-resident ambassador. Mohammad Jabed Patwari presented his credentials to BPM Djibouti’s President Ismail Omar Guelleh.

Djibouti’s President Ismail Omar Guelleh gave a warm welcome to the ambassador and accepted his credentials. After presenting the identity card, the two met in a meeting.

During the meeting, the Ambassador expressed his gratitude to President Guelleh for accepting the identity card and conveyed the greetings of the President and Prime Minister of Bangladesh. He noted that Bangladesh and the Djibouti Alliance believe in the same values ​​as members of the Non-Aligned Movement and the OIC. Ambassador Jabed Patwari praised Djibouti’s support in resolving the Rohingya refugee problem and hoped that their support would continue.

The Ambassador also mentioned Bangladesh’s potential for economic growth, agriculture, fisheries, readymade garments, leather, ceramics and pharmaceutical industries during his tenure. Djibouti’s President Guelleh expressed interest in importing ready-made garments. Visa exemption in the diplomatic and official passport of Bangladesh, When Ambassador Jabed Patwari expressed interest in a bilateral agreement on cultural cooperation with Djibouti, President Guelleh directed that necessary steps be taken in this regard. The two countries also discussed how they could jointly benefit from their strategic geographical location.

Djibouti’s Foreign Minister Mahmoud Ali Youssef and senior officials from the President’s Office were present during the presentation and discussion at the Presidential Palace. Besides, Habiba Hossain, wife of Ambassador Jabed Patwari and Mohammad Humayun Kabir, Counselor of Bangladesh Embassy in Riyadh were also present.
