Venezuela’s coast guard has recovered the bodies of 14 immigrants from the country’s coast.
The bodies were recovered in the past two days in the coastal city of Guerrero. Authorities say they were traveling from Venezuela to Trinidad and Tobago.
Due to the economic crisis and unemployment, migrants try to travel by sea from Venezuela to Trinidad and Tobago every year. At least 40,000 Venezuelans currently live in the country. Last year, two immigration ships sailed from Venezuela to Trinidad and Tobago. So far the two ships have not been found.
