The United States announced new sanctions on Russia

The United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and the European Union have announced new sanctions against Russia on the one-year anniversary of the Ukraine war. In addition to the mining and metallurgical industry, hundreds of Russian and foreign companies that support Moscow are also brought under these sanctions.

In addition, Washington has announced another 2 billion dollars in military aid. However, US President Joe Biden has said that there are no plans to send warplanes to Ukraine for now.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Zelensky said he hopes to discuss China’s proposed peace deal with President Xi Jinping after a year of the war. On the other hand, while welcoming the peace deal proposal, Russia has said it will not compromise on the 4 territories occupied by Ukraine.

In addition, Western media reported that several people were detained in Russia over protests to end the conflict, marking a year of the war.
