The United States has approved the introduction of the modern vaccine as the second vaccine for coronavirus.
The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Friday approved the emergency use of the modern vaccine. A day earlier, the FDA had recommended that the vaccine be used urgently. The United States will buy 200 million doses of Modern. And now Modern is ready to supply 8 million vaccines.
Last Tuesday, FDA scientists voted in favor of approving the modern vaccine. The FDA’s 54-page document on the vaccine states that “no specific concerns were found in its use” and that serious side effects are rare.
Vaccine shipments can begin within the next 24 hours if approved by the FDA. According to the document, 94.1 percent of the modern vaccines were tested in 30,000 people.
Like Pfizer, the modern vaccine also needs to be taken twice. The second ‘booster shot’ must be taken 28 days after the first. The Cambridge-based company in Massachusetts has said it will begin mass production of the vaccine if approved.
The modern vaccine will be introduced in the country at the beginning of next week. The FDA approved the Pfizer vaccine last week.
In the United States, meanwhile, more than 320,000 people have died from corona. More than one crore 78 lakh affected.
