The Embassy of the Russian Federation in Bangladesh has commented that the upcoming Democracy Summit is just a temptation.
They said this in a circular published today 22 February 2023.
The second so-called Summit for Democracy will be held on the initiative of the US administration on March 29-30, 2023. The Embassy of the Russian Federation in Bangladesh makes this comment to convey their thoughts and observations on the matter.
According to the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Bangladesh, this summit was first held in December 2021 to bring together countries to protect democracy around the world. In fact it was used to aggressively promote neo-liberal values by replacing democracy with democracy. which is simply bowing to the unlimited power of elites under formal democratic institutions.
Organizers also tried to create a broad anti-Russia and anti-China front based on ideology. Needless to say, such ‘teaching’ only exacerbated international tensions and create new dividing lines. divides the world into ‘friends’ and ‘enemies’, stigmatizes nations, and enforces an undefined ‘rules-based order’.
Biden’s initiative to hold the so-called Summit for Democracy is the main vehicle of a US grand strategy designed to weaken the role of the United Nations and consolidate American satellites into a broad agenda ranging from climate change and vaccination to military diplomacy, the release said.
