Today is December 16th, the day of great victory. This day of liberation from the shackles of subjugation is a day of remembrance of the most glorious achievement in the life of the Bengali nation. Bangladesh is celebrating its 50th Victory Day after its 49th year of victory.
Various installations across the country, including the capital, are illuminated in red and green to celebrate the victory. Roads, important buildings, and institutions are all painted in this color. Red-green is also being decorated in different places of the road. All in all, the country is red in the light of victory. The grateful nation will remember the heroic children with deep pain and absolute respect.
Various programs have been undertaken to observe the day with due dignity. Due to Corona, strict hygiene rules will be followed. At the same time, due to the epidemic, the colorful parade of the combined forces in the National Parade Square at the old airport in Tejgaon is not being held.
Victory Day has added a different dimension to the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the golden jubilee of independence the following year.
In a separate message, President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina wished the people a happy Victory Day.
