Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni informed the media about the overall decision of the government regarding the admission of government and private secondary schools through a virtual press briefing.
Every year there is a lottery for first class admission and admission test for second to eighth class. However, due to the situation caused by Kavid-19, student admission forms will be sold online in all classes in 2021; After that, the school authorities will check and select it for the lottery. Students will be admitted through lottery in multiple steps.
In one place, a student will have the opportunity to apply to 5 schools. Area wise quota has been increased from 40 percent to 50 percent in Dhaka metropolis. The lottery admission process will be completed between January 10 and 15 in the new year.
The minister further said that classes may start when the winter subsides but even then the hygiene rules will be strictly followed.
