344 abducted schoolchildren released in Nigeria

In Nigeria, 344 abducted schoolchildren have been freed from the clutches of the militant group Boko Haram.

The students were returned to government security personnel on Thursday (December 18th). A spokesman for the country's Katsina state governor said the students were all well. The released students will be returned to their families today, he said.

However, some reports say that some students are still detained. The militant group Boko Haram has admitted to the abduction. They were abducted last week from a boarding school in northwestern Nigeria.
