Admission test in cluster system in 19 universities

In the academic year 2020-21, admission tests will be held in 19 general and science and technology universities of the country in the cluster system.

The final decision was taken at a meeting with the university's vice-chancellors on Tuesday (December 1st), according to a press release from the Bangladesh University Grants Commission (UGC). However, under this group, humanities, trade, and science will be examined in three subjects. There will be a direct admission test in these public universities. Admission test question papers will be prepared based on the syllabus of higher secondary.

The universities in which admission test will be held in a cluster system are Jagannath University, National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam University, Comilla University, Islamic University, Khulna University, Begum Rokeya University, Barisal University, Rabindra University, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Haji Muhammad Danesh Science. And the University of Technology, Maulana Bhasani University of Science and Technology, Noakhali Science and Technology University of Technology, Jessore University of Science and Technology, Pabna University of Science and Technology, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman University of Science and Technology, Rangamati University of Science and Technology, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Digital University, Sheikh Hasina University and Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib University of Science and Technology.

On February 26, a policy decision was taken to conduct admission test in three batches in public universities.

Bangladesh University Grants Commission Chairman Prof. Kazi Shahidullah-UGC member Prof. Dr. chaired the meeting. Md. Sajjad Hossain, Professor. Muhammad Alamgir, Professor. Biswajit Chand and Professor. Md. Abu Taher was present.

UGC Chairman Prof. Dr. virtually joined the meeting. Kazi Shahidullah said, "There is no chance for the university to withdraw from the admission test in a cluster system because of Corona." He urged the vice-chancellors to prepare for the admission test in a direct and easy way by thinking of the students and parents.

It is to be mentioned that last year admission test was held in bachelor system in 7 universities of agriculture.
