Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr. in terms of the ongoing movement of students to stay in the hall during the examination. Md. Akhtaruzzaman said, ‘It is a matter of a decision of the upper house (government). In this case, we do not have the opportunity to take any decision in isolation.

The DU branch of Chhatra League held a meeting with the Vice-Chancellor to demand the opening of the hall on Thursday afternoon. The Vice-Chancellor said this in response to the demands of the BCL leaders. Several BCL leaders present at the meeting confirmed the matter.

According to meeting sources, the BCL leaders raised various arguments in support of their demands. At that time, the BCL leaders said, everything was going normally during Corona. The activities of Dhaka University are also normal. Just off-campus. In this case, only those who will be tested can be decided to stay.

In response, the Vice-Chancellor said, "We cannot decide to open the hall in any way." It is a national issue. The government will decide.

At that time, the BCL leaders demanded to reduce the pressure of exams on the students.

In response, Vice-Chancellor Professor Akhtaruzzaman said, "We are not pressuring any department about the examination." If they can arrange for students to take the test, that's up to them.

Proctor Professor during a meeting with the VC. AKM Golam Rabbani took note of everything.

After the meeting, DU BCL president Sanjit Chandra Das said the university administration decided to close the hall and take the exam. That is why we have given a memorandum to the Vice-Chancellor before Dhaka University Chhatra League. We strongly demand that if you have to take the test, you must open the hall and take the test. In this case, those who will take the test can be allowed to enter if they see the ID card. And if it is not possible to open the hall, then the administration should find a logical student-friendly solution.

Sanjit Chandra further said, so that our ordinary student siblings do not fall into any adversity. The Vice-Chancellor Sir assured us that they would consider the matter of those who would take the test. We hope that they, too, will make logical decisions based on the emotions of our general students.

Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Akhtaruzzaman said, 'We agree with your humanitarian demands, there is no disagreement. Students from different remote areas come here to study. There are several types of pandemics. This is an issue that is contagious. There are so many laws in these cases, so in this case partial decision cannot be taken, no institution can, a national decision is very necessary.

Agreeing with the demands made by the BCL after thinking about the students, the Vice-Chancellor said that many decisions cannot be taken in isolation considering the reality in pandemic time. Many times even after the government has taken a decision, we have to think in the overall judgment. A few student organizations working at the university came to me. They also demanded the opening of the hall. I told them, too, that this was not an isolated decision. This will also increase the national risk.

Earlier, the BCL had given a memorandum to the VC last Sunday. Apart from that, some active student organizations also gave memorandums in this regard.

Meanwhile, the Student Rights Council has been holding a sit-in program at Raju Sculpture demanding the opening of the hall since last Wednesday.
