TIB's report on garment sector is mischievous: BGMEA

The BGMEA, an association of ready-made garment owners, has termed TIB's research report on the garment sector as malicious.

In addition, the organization rejected the report and demanded that it be re-evaluated. In a message, BGMEA said the report was prepared without following proper criteria and rules. BGMEA urged to look into its purpose.
Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) said in a report on December 17 that about 42.02 per cent of the total garment workers did not receive government incentives for salaries and allowances.

It said garment owners' and foreign buyers' organizations did not care about workers' health. Moreover, the owners have laid-off the factory by abusing the law during the Corona period. Many workers have lost their jobs. The report also called for an accurate list of affected workers.
