HSC results are stuck in legal complexities

The results of HSC cannot be given till the ordinance is issued by amending the law.

The draft amendment will be taken up at the next cabinet meeting. If approved, the results will be given after the ordinance is signed by the Prime Minister and the President. This was stated by the examination controller of the Dhaka Education Board. All in all, it will be difficult to give results before the last week of January.

It was not possible to take last year's HSC exam due to Corona. It was decided that the results of HSC will be given in December based on the results of JSC and SSC.

Education Minister Dr. December 29 at a virtual press conference. Dipu Moni said that the results will be given in the first week of January.

But the process of giving results is stuck in legal complexities. Because there is no rule in the law of the board of education to give results without examination.

Dhaka Board of Education Examiner Prof. SM. Amirul Islam said, there is no rule in our organogram of education board to give results without examination. Organogram mentions that the results will be given on the basis that the students will be evaluated. Since there is no rule in the ordinance to give results without examination, we can give results only after the ordinance is issued.

The cabinet meeting on January 4 was to approve the draft law. As the meeting was canceled, the probable date of approval is 11th January.

The controller of examinations of Dhaka Education Board said that the cabinet meeting is scheduled to be held on the 11th. The Prime Minister will sign it after the cabinet meeting, then it will go to the President. If he approves the ordinance, the result will be given. We have made all the preparations.

In 2020, the total number of candidates at the higher secondary and equivalent level was 13 lakh, 65 thousand 789 people.
