Meeting of Project Monitoring Committee under Indian Debt Agreement

The first meeting of the High-Level Project Monitoring Committee has been held under the Indian Debt Agreement.

During the meeting, the representatives of the two countries discussed the progress of various projects under the loan agreement. In the virtual meeting, various development projects of the two countries were discussed.

In a statement, the Indian High Commission said Bangladesh has so far signed agreements worth 126 million with project implementing agencies, which is 16 percent of the total loan agreement. However, 83 percent of the project is at the planning and tender stage. Out of 46 projects under three loan agreements between the two countries, 14 have been completed, eight are ongoing, 15 are in the tender stage and 14 are in the planning stage.

Of India's ৭ 7,082 million pledge, 500 million has been approved for defense equipment.
