The school reopened in Kenya after 9 months

The school reopened in Kenya on Monday after being closed for nearly nine months to prevent coronavirus infection. The BBC reports.

After the opening of the school, millions of students come to the educational institution wearing masks. Students' body temperature is checked at the time of entering the school. They also use hand sanitizers as per the rules while entering the classroom.

According to the AFP news agency, there has been a sense of relief and apprehension among parents about the opening of the school in the wake of the Corona epidemic. Although the school was reopened during the Corona epidemic, the country's authorities said steps had been taken to ensure the safety of students.

However, Wilson Social, general secretary of the National Union of Teachers in Kenya, complained that the move was taken due to a lack of necessary facilities. He added that the government has not given any concession to buy thermometers, sanitizers, and other necessary equipment for the implementation of corona hygiene.

Meanwhile, the country's education minister, George Magoha, has been criticized for making controversial remarks about opening schools. He said schools should consider taking classes under trees to avoid overcrowding in the classroom.

Corona infection began in Kenya in March last year. About 97,000 coronas have been identified in the country so far. And about 1,600 people died in Corona.
