The second consignment of rice bought from India has reached Chittagong port

The second consignment of 5,086 tons of rice has reached Chittagong port from India. The consignment arrived at the port anchorage on the MV Senjuti on Tuesday night.

Mohammad Saiful Alam, head of the Chittagong Food Department's Department of Traffic Protection, said the ship was scheduled to arrive at the port's jetty on Thursday for unloading after paying all customs fees. On December 24, the MV Senjuti arrived in Chittagong from Kolkata with 4,113 tonnes of rice.

In the meantime, these rice have been unloaded from the port and reached the government warehouse. Although rice will be imported in two lighter ships, in the third phase rice will be imported in the mother vessel. A big ship with rice is scheduled to arrive at Chittagong port on January 10.
