There are less than two and a half lakh seats in higher education than the students who have passed
The number of seats in higher education in the country is less than the number of students who have passed HSC. In other words, a large number of these students will not get the opportunity of higher education even if they want to. However, academics do not consider it a crisis. They think that only qualified people should take higher education. And the rest of them think that taking technical education will be positive for themselves and the country.

This time the number of students who have passed HSC is 13 lakh, 67 thousand 377 people. The number of students who have passed this time is more than three lakh eighty thousand as compared to the 2019 academic year.

According to the annual report of the University Grants Commission 2019, there are 151 public and private universities in the country with a total of 2 lakh 32 thousand 328 seats. And the government and private colleges under the National University have about eight lakh seats. In other words, the total number of seats is a little more than 10 lakh. Even then, according to the pass rate, this time there will be less than two lakh seats. The Minister of Education also said that not everyone can get the opportunity to take higher education.

As there are fewer seats, there will be no crisis in taking higher education, said the Director-General of the Department of Secondary and Higher Education, Prof. Syed Md. Golam Farooq. "It simply came to our notice then. The desire was less because he used to pass less, this time the desire will also increase because he passed more. It will make a difference and there is no such difference.

Educationists also say that the number of students going to higher education every year will not be much different this year. However, they think that it is more important for everyone to be proficient in technical education than to be unemployed in higher education.

Former Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University AAMS Arefin Siddique said that in the end, many who are hoping for higher education may not get the university or subject of their choice. But somewhere he got a seat. They don't need to pass BAMA for the job they are getting, they need more technical education. That is what we should aim for.

Rasheda K Chowdhury, executive director of the Mass Literacy Campaign, said, "If we want to keep pace with the developed world, we need to identify students from the secondary level." And it is also the responsibility of the educational institution. His talent can be applied in any direction to identify the students.

However, students who have passed may still have to wait at least 3 more months to be admitted to higher education.
