The ban will remain in place, work with it: Khamenei

Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Uzma Khamenei has called on the country's officials to work for the imposition of sanctions on imperialist powers. He said this in his address to the nation on the occasion of Nowruz, the beginning of the Persian New Year 1400.

He added that the country's economy could not be made dependent on the lifting of possible sanctions under any circumstances. In his speech, Ayatollah Uzma Khamenei strongly condemned the US economic sanctions against Iran, calling them a "terrible crime." He said such behavior was not unexpected from a country that could kill 220,000 people in a single country by carrying out an atomic bombing.

"But the ban has created opportunities for us in many cases," he said. Our youth have invented new technologies and made many products in the country, freeing Iran from dependency. It was a valuable lesson for us. We have two things to do in dealing with sanctions. First, we can go to the banner and request that you lift the ban. Then he will impose imperialist demands on us. This path is insulting and humiliating.

The second way is to bypass sanctions and try to meet all economic needs within the country. The Iranian people have chosen the second path. For example, coronavirus can be mentioned. We did not have enough masks at the beginning of the spread of this virus in Iran. But now we are making all the products to deal with coronavirus in the country. The coronavirus vaccine is made in the country and people are getting it. So, we have to be self-sufficient in dealing with sanctions and not resort to abusive ways.

Speaking on the nuclear deal, the top leader said the US "policy of maximum pressure" had failed. Pointing to former US President Donald Trump, he said he wanted Iran to bow to him in an insulting manner. But in the end, Iran did not bow down but left in a state of extreme humiliation.
He also defamed America before leaving. On the other hand, the Islamic Republic of Iran survives with pride.

Ayatollah Uzma Khamenei said that if the current US president follows in the footsteps of his predecessor, he too will one day be lost, but Iran will proudly stand tall in the world.

The Supreme Leader said that Iran's final policy is that the Western countries that have signed the nuclear deal must implement their commitments. The ban must be lifted effectively. And if they do, Iran will fully implement the promises made in the agreement.

He slammed US policy in the Middle East, saying it was a "wrong decision" for the United States to sponsor a butcher's government like Zionist Israel. He also called the US military presence in Syria a "wrong decision" by Washington.

Iran's top leader has said that the recent steps taken by some Arab countries to normalize relations with Israel will not change the position of the entire Muslim Ummah. The Muslim Ummah will never forget the painful memory of the forcible occupation of the Palestinian territories by Zionist Israel.

Iran's top leader also blamed the United States for the crisis in Yemen, saying that Saudi Arabia had launched aggression against the poverty-stricken country with the direct cooperation and green light of the US government. He said there was still time to stop the aggression in Yemen before realizing the dire shape of the situation.

In his speech, the supreme leader called the new Persian year "the year of production, patronage, and removal of barriers." The last Persian year was called 'Year of Production.' Respecting that name, Iran's own technology has increased the production of many products. Ayatollah Khamenei expressed satisfaction over this. He called for stopping or reducing the import of foreign goods to increase domestic production and reduce the influence of the middle class. He said intermediaries are harmful to both the producer and the consumer. The Supreme Leader also called for curbing corruption in various sectors.

He quoted a report as saying that despite the enemy's severe economic blockade, Iran's economy was ranked 18th in the world. This is not a trivial matter. Being ranked 18th out of more than 200 countries in the world is a big deal. "If we can remove some of the obstacles to Iran's economic growth, it will be able to move to the 12th position," he said.

The Supreme Leader said that these obstacles need to be removed by strengthening the country's management so that sanctions do not harm Iran's economy. It is better to lift the ban; But even if it does not rise, measures must be taken so that the economy is not harmed.

Ayatollah Uzma Khamenei called on candidates not to make the country's economy dependent on sanctions in the upcoming presidential election. "You have to assume that the ban will continue," he said.
Don't say, 'If the ban is lifted, I'll do it, I'll do it.' It is not possible to implement the election promises based on if.

The Supreme Leader explained the importance of the upcoming presidential election and called on the people to cast their votes in this election. He said that through elections, the people of Iran must reflect their unity and solidarity. Iran is set to hold presidential elections next June.
