There is no crisis in BNP leadership: Mirza Fakhrul

BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said there was no crisis in the party's leadership.

He said the formation of a neutral government and an election commission and an acceptable election was the biggest challenges at the moment. The BNP secretary general said this in an exclusive interview given to DBC News.

Born on September 1, 1987, the BNP has been in the field of politics for more than four decades. Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, 'The contribution of this party in the politics of Bangladesh is immense. Bringing one-party government back to the multi-party government system. It was brought back by the country's leader Begum Khaleda Zia. As a result, we got an opportunity to bring back democracy in Bangladesh. But unfortunately, that opportunity has gone away from us, since the Awami League came.

He also answered those who raised questions about the current leadership of the BNP. The BNP secretary general said, 'BNP leadership is not so weak. Khaleda Zia has been illegally detained in a false case. Our acting chairman is abroad in exile. In such a situation, we are united under the direction of the acting chairman and are moving forward by organizing the team to a limited extent.

He said the movement to consolidate democracy is still going on. Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, “The biggest challenge facing the BNP is the need for a neutral government during the election period. At the same time, a neutral election commission is needed. The way the government has reduced the neutral system to its law enforcement forces, it is difficult for our opposition to work, but we are working.

The BNP secretary general also greeted the people on the occasion of the party's 43rd founding anniversary.
