Plane crashes in China with 132 passengers on board


A plane carrying 132 people has crashed in southern China. On Monday, the country's Eastern Airlines Boeing Seven-Three-Seven plane was en route from Kunming to Guangzhou.

The plane crashed in Guangzhou on the way. The plane caught fire shortly after it crashed into a mountain, Chinese state media CCTV reported. Authorities fear many casualties in the crash. However, no clear information has been received about the casualties yet.

Meanwhile, China's Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said the crashed plane had 123 passengers and nine crew members on board.

Local media quoted airport officials as saying that the China Eastern Airlines plane had taken off from Kunming at around 1pm local time. The destination of the plane was Guangzhou city.

According to CCTV, the authorities have already started the rescue operation.

Meanwhile, according to Flight Radar-24, the latest location of the flight was found at 2:22 pm local time at an altitude of 3,225 feet. After that the plane of China Eastern Airlines crashed.
