World Bank to assist Ukraine

The World Bank is preparing to help war-torn Ukraine.

Along with The World Bank Group, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will also provide assistance to the country.

The World Bank has said that 300 billion could be provided to Ukraine in the coming months. Of this, at least 350 million is planned for next week.

According to the IMF, the financial assistance that Ukraine has requested from them is being considered quickly. In a joint statement, World Bank and IMF leaders also expressed concern about the possible consequences of Russia's attack on Ukraine.

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) said in a tweet that the number of people in urgent need of humanitarian assistance in Ukraine was increasing within hours. The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said in a separate statement that more than 1.7 million people had been displaced in Ukraine since the war began.
