The three brothers who were brutalized by the Israelis said that they, along with some others, were captured and beaten, stripped of their clothes, lit with cigarettes, and subjected to other physical tortures.

Sobi Yasin and his two brothers Saadi and Ibrahim gave this information in an interview to Reuters. They are currently in a shelter in Rafah.

These three brothers said that they were taken by Israeli soldiers from their home in Gaza City in the northern part of Gaza in early December. After that, they were kept in different unknown places for two consecutive weeks. Among these were military barracks or camps.

Israeli forces surrounded the area in the first week of December, older brother Sobi Yassin told Reuters. There they worked as laborers.

He said he was injured in the leg before being detained by Israeli soldiers. Because of that injury, the soldiers could not get into the truck. Unable to get up, the four of them beat him severely. First, they are taken to an open and exposed place. There, Israeli soldiers lit their bodies with cigars, sprinkled sand and water, and urinated on them.

Palestinians are taken to a stadium in Gaza. Children were also forced to take off their clothes there. Sobi's other two brothers Saadi and Ibrahim also said the same thing. They also said that brutal torture was carried out on them.

Reuters said, apart from these three, they spoke to 20 other people. Those Palestinians also described the same torture.

Reuters contacted the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) in this regard. An IDF spokesperson said in a written statement that they are treating Palestinian prisoners according to international standards. The spokesman added that the detainees were stripped of their clothes to ensure they were not carrying any weapons or explosives.
